Purchase a Drop-In Safe
Many businesses help protect both their money and their employees by investing in drop-in safes. This is a safe that is placed within your business and that employees can deposit money into but cannot open, such as through a small slot on the top. Once you purchase one of these safes, you'll need to come up with a system that encourages employees to take extra money out of their cash registers and deposit it in the safe throughout the day; you may want to come up with a certain cut-off so that no more than that amount is left in the register. Post signs that state that your cash registers have under a certain amount of cash in them at all times due to your safe. If a potential robber knows that he or she probably will not be able to get very much money out of the store, he or she might not bother in attempting to commit a crime.
Install Electric Remote Locks
If you work with a commercial locksmith, you can have locks installed that can be locked and unlocked remotely. Then, your employees can lock the door from the cash registers, such as if they see someone approaching the store with a mask on. This can help keep everyone, from employees to customers, safe.
